Hexbane
Privacy policy
Privacy policy
Last updated:
Effective from 7 November 2026. This policy explains what personal data we process when you play the Hexbane game for Android — including its closed test on Google Play — and when you use hexbane.com, why we do it, how long we keep it and how you can use your rights.
1. Who we are
Hexbane is run by a sole proprietorship registered in the Polish business register (CEIDG), tax ID (NIP) 8652547929 (“we”). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Write to support@hexbane.com about anything in this policy.
2. Data we process when you play
- Sign-in with Google Play Games. The game signs you in with Google Play Games Services, automatically each time it starts. Google gives the game a one-time code; our server exchanges it with Google and receives your Play Games player ID, your Play Games display name and a link to your Play Games avatar image. We don't ask Google for your e-mail address or contacts, and we never see your Google password. Our server then opens your Hexbane account, which has its own account ID and a randomly generated username.
- Characters and progress. The names you give your characters, their race, level, attributes, spells and spell sets, your tutorial progress, match results (they include your opponent's account ID and username), wins and losses on the leaderboard, matchmaking queue entries and which computer-controlled opponents you faced recently.
- Friends and invitations. Your friends and friend requests, duel invitations, in-game notifications, and the “add friend” and “report” actions you take against an opponent after a match.
- Push notifications — see section 3.
- Usage statistics. Our server records a small set of events to see how the game is played and to keep it balanced: sign-in (with the sign-in method), account created, session start and end (with its length), character created (with its race), tutorial completed, match start and end (mode, whether the opponent was a player, the computer or a training dummy, result and length), and an outdated app being refused (its build number, platform and game-data version). The events are stored under a random identifier instead of your account ID, contain no device model, location or IP address, and are deleted automatically after 180 days. The game contains no third-party analytics or advertising software.
- Version check. After sign-in the game sends the server its build number, platform and game-data version, so an outdated app can ask you to update.
- Connection and server logs. Our servers necessarily process your IP address to connect you; we don't store it in the game database. Server logs record account IDs, usernames and character names together with events such as sign-ins, matches and errors.
- Problem reports — only if you send one. *Settings → Report a problem* writes an e-mail in your own mail app containing: game version and build, platform, device model, operating-system version, graphics chip, screen size, language, server version, your account ID, your character's name, level and ID, the screen you were on, the time, and up to 8 KB of the game's recent log with passwords and tokens removed. It also copies the full report (up to 32 KB) to your clipboard so you can paste it. Nothing reaches us until you send the e-mail yourself.
- Stored on your phone. The game keeps its sign-in session, sound settings, combat-control layout, Casting Circle settings and the tutorial tips you have seen in its own app storage, and the push token in its app preferences. Google Play Games Services and Firebase keep their own data on the device.
The game has no ads, no in-app purchases and no chat, and it doesn't access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. We don't use artificial intelligence on your data, and we don't sell it.
3. Push notifications for duel invitations
If notifications for Hexbane are allowed on your phone, the game obtains a Firebase Cloud Messaging token — an identifier of the game on your device — and sends it to our server together with your account and the platform. On Android 13 and newer the game asks for permission first and registers nothing if you decline. On Android 12 and older, Android allows notifications by default, so the token is registered unless you switch notifications for Hexbane off in your phone's settings. Whenever notifications are off, the game removes the token from our server and deletes it on the phone. When a friend invites you to a duel, our server sends Google your token, the text “‹username› invited you to a duel” and the invitation's ID, and Google delivers the notification.
4. Data we process on hexbane.com
- Waitlist. If you join it, we store your e-mail address, the platform you chose, your agreement to receive the release e-mail and the time you signed up with our e-mail provider Resend, to tell you when the game is released. Before a sign-up is accepted, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that it comes from a person; it processes your IP address and technical data about your browser.
- Analytics — only with your consent. Google Analytics runs only after you choose “Accept analytics”. It measures page views, where visitors come from and what device and browser they use, and it sets cookies. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and your waitlist e-mail is never sent to Google. Details and how to change your choice: Cookies.
- Server logs. Serving the website processes your IP address and the pages you request.
5. E-mails to us
When you write to support@hexbane.com — for support, a problem report or a deletion request — we process your e-mail address, your message and anything you attach. Our mail is hosted by Proton.
6. Purposes and legal bases
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Running the game: account, sign-in, characters, matches, progress, friends, invitations, version check | Sections 2 and 3 | Art. 6(1)(b) — performing our agreement with you (Terms) |
| Notifications about duel invitations | Push token, invitation | Art. 6(1)(b); you can switch them off at any time in your phone's notification settings |
| Usage statistics | The events in section 2 | Art. 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in improving and balancing the game; you can object (section 9) |
| Security, preventing abuse, fixing problems | Server logs, player reports, problem reports | Art. 6(1)(f) — keeping the game working and fair |
| Answering your messages | E-mails | Art. 6(1)(b) for matters about the game, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Running the closed test | Your e-mail address on the tester list | Art. 6(1)(f) — organising the test you asked to join |
| Waitlist e-mail | Waitlist data | Art. 6(1)(a) — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Website analytics | Google Analytics data | Art. 6(1)(a) — your consent |
| Protecting the waitlist form from bots | Turnstile data | Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Handling your requests and our legal obligations | Requests and their records | Art. 6(1)(c) |
You need the sign-in and gameplay data to play; everything else is optional. We don't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects by automated means — matchmaking only pairs players for a duel.
7. Who receives data
- Other players see your character's name, race, level and record on the leaderboard and in duels. Players who search for you or are your friends also see your username, your Play Games display name and avatar, and whether you are online. Don't use your real name for a character.
- Google: Google Play Games Services for sign-in (Google's own privacy policy covers your Google account), Firebase Cloud Messaging, which delivers invitation notifications for us, Google Play, which distributes the game and runs the closed-test tester list, and Google Analytics on the website, with your consent.
- Cloudflare (the security check on the waitlist form), Resend (waitlist e-mails) and Proton (our e-mail).
- If you follow our link to Discord, Discord's own terms and privacy policy apply.
Our game server and this website run on servers we administer in Poland. We don't sell personal data and don't share it with advertisers.
Google, Cloudflare and Resend are US companies. When they process data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which they are certified, or on the standard contractual clauses in their data processing terms. Proton is based in Switzerland, which the Commission recognises as providing adequate protection.
8. How long we keep data
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account, characters, progress, friends and invitations | Until you delete your account, or until we shut the game down |
| Your name in other players' match results | Replaced with “Deleted mage” when you delete your account |
| Finished matchmaking queue entries | 7 days |
| Usage-statistics events | 180 days, deleted automatically; the random identifier until you delete your account |
| Push token | Until notifications are off, you delete your account, or Google reports the token as no longer valid |
| Server logs | Only on our servers, in log files that are overwritten as they fill up and removed whenever the server is updated; we keep no log archive |
| Backups of the game database | No backups are kept yet; once enabled, encrypted backups in the EU are kept for up to 6 months |
| E-mails to us, problem reports and deletion requests | 12 months after the matter is closed |
| Waitlist | Until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent; deleted within 12 months after the release e-mail |
| Closed-test tester list | For the duration of the closed test; removed within 30 days after it ends |
| Website analytics (Google Analytics) | 2 months for visitor-level data (our Google Analytics retention setting) |
| Your cookie choice | In your browser, until you change it or clear the site's data |
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for access to your data and a copy of it, for correction, erasure or restriction of processing, and for data portability. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including usage statistics. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this doesn't affect processing that happened before.
Write to support@hexbane.com. We may ask for details that show the account is yours — never for your Google password. We answer within one month; for complex or numerous requests we may extend this by two months and will tell you why within the first month.
To delete your account and its data, use *Settings → Delete account* in the game, or see Delete your account.
You can also complain to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl) or to the supervisory authority where you live or work.
10. Age
Hexbane is for people aged 16 or older and is not directed at children. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it. A parent or guardian who believes their child uses Hexbane can write to support@hexbane.com and we will delete the account.
11. Security
All connections between the game and our server, and to this website, are encrypted (HTTPS and secure WebSocket).
12. Changes
When this policy changes we update this page and its “Last updated” date, and we announce significant changes in the game or on hexbane.com before they apply.
Polityka prywatności
Ostatnia aktualizacja:
1. Kim jesteśmy
Hexbane prowadzi przedsiębiorca wpisany do CEIDG, NIP 8652547929 („my”). Jesteśmy administratorem opisanych tu danych osobowych. We wszystkich sprawach dotyczących tej polityki pisz na support@hexbane.com.
Google przekazuje grze jednorazowy kod; nasz serwer wymienia go w Google i otrzymuje Twój identyfikator gracza Play Games, nazwę wyświetlaną Play Games i link do obrazka awatara Play Games. Nie prosimy Google o Twój adres e-mail ani kontakty i nigdy nie widzimy Twojego hasła Google. Następnie serwer otwiera Twoje konto Hexbane, które ma własny identyfikator konta i losowo wygenerowaną nazwę użytkownika.
- Postacie i postęp.
- Znajomi i zaproszenia.
- Powiadomienia push — zob. punkt 3.
- Statystyki korzystania.
- Sprawdzenie wersji. Po zalogowaniu gra wysyła serwerowi swój numer kompilacji, platformę i wersję danych gry, żeby nieaktualna aplikacja mogła poprosić Cię o aktualizację.
- Połączenie i logi serwera. Nasze serwery muszą przetwarzać Twój adres IP, żeby Cię połączyć; nie zapisujemy go w bazie danych gry. Logi serwera zapisują identyfikatory kont, nazwy użytkowników i nazwy postaci razem ze zdarzeniami takimi jak logowania, pojedynki i błędy.
- Zgłoszenia problemów — tylko jeśli je wyślesz. *Settings → Report a problem* przygotowuje e-mail w Twojej aplikacji pocztowej zawierający: wersję i kompilację gry, platformę, model urządzenia, wersję systemu, układ graficzny, rozmiar ekranu, język, wersję serwera, identyfikator konta, nazwę, poziom i identyfikator postaci, ekran, na którym byłeś, czas oraz do 8 KB ostatniego logu gry z usuniętymi hasłami i tokenami. Kopiuje też pełny raport (do 32 KB) do schowka, żebyś mógł go wkleić. Nic do nas nie trafia, dopóki sam nie wyślesz wiadomości.
- Na Twoim telefonie. Gra przechowuje w swojej pamięci sesję logowania, ustawienia dźwięku, układ sterowania walką, ustawienia Casting Circle i obejrzane wskazówki samouczka, a token push w ustawieniach aplikacji.
Gdy znajomy zaprasza Cię na pojedynek, nasz serwer wysyła do Google Twój token, tekst „‹nazwa użytkownika› invited you to a duel” i identyfikator zaproszenia, a Google dostarcza powiadomienie.
Szczegóły i zmiana wyboru: Cookies.
- Logi serwera. Obsługa strony wymaga przetwarzania Twojego adresu IP i żądanych stron.
6. Cele i podstawy prawne

7. Kto otrzymuje dane
- Inni gracze widzą nazwę, rasę, poziom i wyniki Twojej postaci w rankingu i w pojedynkach.
- Cloudflare (zabezpieczenie formularza listy oczekujących), Resend (e-maile z listy oczekujących) i Proton (nasza poczta).
Google, Cloudflare i Resend to firmy z USA.
